Bryophyte

Introduction
Bryophytes are mosses that are often found in damp or wet places. Bryophyte has a stem and leaves which are very simple but have no vascular tissue (xylem or phloem). Bryophytes have a structure which is similar to simple roots which is called rhizoid.

The characteristic of Bryophytes
Multicelluler
Eukaryotic
Photosynthetic autotroph
Have cell wall made of cellulose
Have a chloroplasts with chlorophylls

The classes of Bryophyte
The three classes of Bryophytes, they are: Hepaticopsida, Anthocerotopsida and Bryopsida.

The benefit of Bryophyte
Pioneer plant
Prevent erosion
Making the soil fertile and suitable for the growth of bigger plant.
Sphagnum is used for reindeer food.
